I have no clue. I expected a crash at some point due to options
markets having such a profound effect on prices, and too many
highly leveraged CTAs selling hedged options index contracts.
I think we are talking $300 billion worth of highly
leveraged CTAs doing this, as opposed to $1 billion for LTCM.
Markets will do funny things now, as they count on correlations,
and those break down too because they count on them! It's a very
dangerous market. Citi will go under if this keeps up, as
they are bigger than JPM in equity options.
