There are many people who argue that a strong dollar is bad and that we should be glad to see it weaken. I don't tend to agree in general, but see some merit in the position.

I admit not knowing much about economics beyond what appeals to my common sense. I know there's benefits connected to the weak dollar ie. improving our trade deficit by making our products more appealing overseas, hoards of EU people coming here on shopping excursions etc.... But I'm getting the impression that the dollar has fallen below the level where the bad effects out weigh the benefits.....

I agree with you about the minimum wage, couldn't have been done at a worse time.
