Really? I would have thought they would be popular.

My mother had an old edition of Dumas' The Three Musketeers, complete with drawings, that i read several times. She used to hide money in it too.

That's for sure. I tried to find a 1st edition of "Old Man and The Sea" for a friend who was having a big one...birthday, not heart attack. He was a sailor from way back and loved the sea, so I thought it was fitting.

I couldn't find a 1st edition, but I bought a copy and promised I'd keep on looking and about seven months later, I actually ran across an old 1st edition at a used book store. It was in wonderful condition, I couldn't believe I'd finally found and original Hemmingway in such good condition.

They had some on EBAY. but they were the book of the month club copy and I didn't want that one.
