Yes, Reagan's guns and tax cuts era was unique in American history. Including soldiers in employment stats was the least of it. He had a wonderful gift of communication, and used it to the fullest to promote his agenda of "starving the beast". I remember looking at the real numbers behind the facade and trembling with rage. But the vast majority of the people are innumerate. Nice uplifting speeches count so much more than boring statistics.
