The fascists in the GOP are trying to cheat again by pushing this voter ID idea which they pretend is about "protecting and integrity of the vote". It is not just a Nazi style program, where all Americans would have to carry ID or be subject to arrest like in dictatorships, but it's also blatantly racist and prejudicial against the elderly and poor. The racist GOP in Georgia pushed it through and it's had the effect of denying tens of thousands of poor mainly black voters their voting rights. That is how the GOP stole Florida 2000 from Gore, stole thousands of Kerry votes in Ohio 2004 and how they plan to keep denying people the right to vote based on the color of their skin.
