Karen, are you forgetting that Jimmy Carter ran for reelection in 1980?

What I meant was that --in terms of age he was not old enough to vote for Carter when Carter was elected in 1976.

He could have voted in 1980 for the 1st time.

Did he vote Democrat that year, did he vote Republican, did he not vote??

I don't know the answer to those questions.

Obama comes from a background of privilege.

Consider this:

1. Mother could afford going from Kansas to Hawaii to go to University of Hawaii (Circa 1960)

2. Kenyan father could afford going to University of Hawaii (Circa 1960)

3. They met - Obama born (August 1961)

4. "Kenyan father leaves Hawaii and goes to Harvard"
( circa 1963) for his education. Finishes Harvard education and goes back to Kenya not to Hawaii.

5. Mother divorces and meets 2nd husband from Indonesia, who could also afford University of Hawaii

6...Mother and Obama go to Indonesia with 2nd husband

7. Mother's parents go to Hawaii from Kansas (were they already there---or did they retire from Kansas to Hawaii?)

8. Mother sends Obama back to Hawaii to live with Grandparents---(circa 19_____? 1971 or earlier)

9. Obama enrolled in Punahou (circa 1971?)-----lives with grandparents

10. Punahou, exclusive private school in Hawaii---

11. Punahou to California to Columbia University to Harvard

Obama had major advantages that most children in the USA did not have at the time he was receiving this 'silver spoon' education----

Parents highly educated at University of Hawaii.

Punahou was the 'silver spoon' school in Hawaii in 1971 when Obama went there.

What is missing in all of this is how the education was funded-------it is one of privilege----that is obvious.

Has Obama talked about this?
