My views of silver are seriously prejudiced because I am a disillusioned silver bull who lost a great deal of money on silver in the from about 1985 to 1990. I kept expecting it to come back because of its use in photography, but then digital cameras were a great success.

I would not choose silver as a precious metal because it is too bulky as compared to gold or platinum. It has many excellent properties as a metal, conducting both heat and electricity very well. I have no idea what its prospects as an investment may be. I do enjoy owning a certain amount of silver table implements, teapots, etc, since it's very pretty when polished.

But I have lost interest in it as an investment.
