Yes, something about being worried about getting paid out at maturity. The obvious Fed solution in 2008 however will be to issue a new 100-year or perhaps 500-year bond to put that maturity thingy problem off as long as possible

1/25/2008 7:35:35 AM Caterpillar Inc. (CAT) posted fourth quarter net income of $975 million or $1.50 per share, compared to $882 million or $1.32 per share in the prior year quarter. Total sales and revenues for the quarter increased to $12.1 billion from $11.0 billion in the same quarter of last year. On average, analysts polled by First Call/Thomson Financial expected the company to earn $1.50 per share on revenues of $11.77 billion for the quarter.
