Two obviously hyped notions, presented with apropriate cynicism. I would be interested in your thought about what the non-hyped version would look like. What do you think is real in each of those arenas?

I guess I must be dense, as I don't see what is "hyped" about Ed's post. The Reagan admin made the tax system far less progressive by significantly cutting the top rate while paying for those cuts with debt and calling government the "enemy" while cutting back on regulation of all sorts are the sorts of policies that Ed had in mind.

But then Ed is more than able to defend himself.
