Yes, Obama needs to win big states. If he doesn't all this bruhaha about who said what against whom with Clinton will be meaningless. It's about electoral votes.

Watch for a possible strong second place finish for Edwards today, putting him back on the map and giving the Super Tuesday voters a third choice which many of them might make.

Keep in mind that in a lot of those cases, the winner had already been decided by the time NY voted. So I think it's mostly irrelevant. At least, I wouldn't think of NY as any kind of bellwhether.
