RE:"a very unlikeable asshole"

Not likeable at all. At least with Bill you were amused while you were being smoozed.

>She's an asshole.......she's made that very clear in the last few weeks.....a very unlikeable asshole.

And yet a lot of people really like her. A LOT. I think last time I checked, her positive-negative ratings were something like 54-41, which is pretty good. On the positive side, the ratings were largely skewed towards those who REALLY liked her, as opposed to those who just kind of like her. On the negative side, the ratings were largely skewed towards those who REALLY hate her.

So, yes, she's polarizing, and what we end up with is a candidate whom the electorate already has an impression of that's unlikely to change over the course of an election season. But she's frozen in a pretty good place. And pretty good is probably all it will take to beat the Republican this year given the party registration, party approval rating, and primary voting trends.

I do, however, think that if we'd like to beat the Republican in a landslide, Obama and Edwards have a lot more upside. But all we have to do is win, and I think she'd do that securely.

But, of course, these things are much more unpredictable than we give them credit for. So we'll see.
