I like Whitney Tilson, but I am not sure what he meant when he said that Buffett showed no interest in financial sector. Buffett has increased his holdings in USB about 80% (~28 million shares) and in WFC about 8% (~21 million shares) by the end of September 2007. Part of that is Wesco/Munger buys, but the rest is BRKa buying directly.

With no SEC reports from BRKA about the October-December period we can only speculate about Buffett's investments. All that we know is that he did not buy any company outright. We don't know how much money he invested from his cash into financial stocks. Since the biggest decline occurred after the New Year, we won't know what Buffett has invested in financials during the recent market fall until mid April.
