Everyone thought George W. Bush was going to be in a bad spot, being elected after the stock market collapse.

Who could have believed he would be devious enough to devise the subprime generated real estate bubble as a solution - promoted as "the ownership society."

Apparently a society where banks own most citizens. As George W. said of one of his other programs, "it was a devastating success."

I can't imagine what could be devised next to prevent the inevitable deleveraging.

No doubt, something truly awful.
