"So where does that leave you?"

Nowhere at the moment. Edwards speaks to me on a number of issues. But the only way he can get any attention is to comb his hair.

Maybe if he would light it...

Hillary talks a decent game. But, she is very corporate oriented. Bill was too. Now, in general, that is helpful in getting things done. But we have had 7 years of letting the corporations run things, that needs to be dialed back. Besides, there is the whole dynasty thing that bothers me. And Bill is showing us that he can't separate his position in the Democratic party from he need to support Hillary.

And that isn't good.

And then there is Obama. Who is determined to not talk about policy. Which annoys me to no end. Ok, the reality is a candidate needs to be inspiring. But there needs to be more than that. A lot of people gave Smirk a pass on details because he appealed to their gut. And look how that turned out...

At least those three are sane. It doesn't look nearly as good on the Republican side.

There was a time when I could have gone for McCain. But, in his zeal to have at least some chance, he has sucked up to those who, well, suck. Starting with the Shrub. And, as McMannis just pointed out, he shows every sign of trying to win in Iraq.

Ron Paul is a libertarian. As I have stated, I have strong libertarian leanings, as most Texans do. But, libertarianism needs to be tempered with some realization of how things work in the real world. Ron shows little sign of even being aware that there is a real world. He'd be a zero because Congress would just ignore him.

Guiliani. Wants to be velociraptor in chief. And he apparently ran NYC like his personal cookie jar. Plus, thank you very much, but we have had enough of putting people in place and promoting based on personal contacts and loyalty.

Romney. The amusing thing is he is precisely what a lot of conservatives, with some justification I might add, accused Bill of. Mitt can't do anything without a poll. Being able to evolve your beliefs as circumstances change is one thing. But, adopting whole new and radically different belief systems at a moments notice is just a little too flexible for my tastes.

And that leaves Huck. I really would like to like him. While I don't track with him on a lot of things, I am comfortable that he wouldn't be too out there on most things. But, he has his moments. Like his talk about changing the Constitution to conform with God.
