Wanker Engine

My idea of a peripheral gas piston system driving a rotor would probably not work. The gas entry would have to be made at the center of the rotor and escape centrifugally to the outside, high pressure to low. If the escape vents were directed tangentially on the periphery, then there would be a vector net force against the rotor that would be unidirectional. The difference between this and the turbine would be the pulse nature of the gas flow, conserving energy and lowering rotor speed.

It would operate the same as below, but it would have a symmetric rotor, and a circular outershell with pure circular movement.
