Enter James Carville, circa 1992. Politics got a whole lot more partisan. Carville was Bill Clintons attack dog. Sound familiar? Bill is now Hillarys attack dog.

Don't know when it started it's downward spiral, but the Neos have taken it to a new level. You might even go back to Watergate... and then a series of revenge attacks by both sides.

Remeber statesmen like Everett Dirksen? Those guys were real politicians... and they got stuff done.

Carville is tough but not unethical and certainly not libelous like the smearvets and Karl Rove. Carvville also has no history of cheating, election fraud or stealing votes like Rove does. Nor does he has any history of voter supression. You can't name a single smear campaign Carville ever ran.

This is the big difference between tough democratic politics and Lee Atwater-Karl Rove type dirty politics. One is in bounds the other is totally out of bounds and even criminal.

"Enter James Carville, circa 1992."

It started with Nixon. The (R)'s wanted payback after Nixon, even though they helped to force him to resign.
