KT,

Given that there isn't a viable candidate that holds my strong view that our major economic problem is the flawed domestic and global monetary system, as is usually the case I am looking for the least bad alternatives.

I could live with a Romney vs. Obama election.

Even though Obama is foolish enough to think government can solve long term problems without creating even bigger ones, he's bright, charismatic, seems to have some integrity and his last name is not Clinton. So he's not a leading candidate to be the anti-Christ.

It's hard for me to find any redeeming qualities among the republicans (except Paul) other than they are less foolish about long term economic matters. In this specific case, the only thing I like about Romney is that he's not McCain. It's pretty clear to me that McCain is a clueless old fart that should be in a retirement home. He's the embodiment of most of the things wrong with Washington. He's an idiot. Paul asked him a question at one the debates and he babbled endlessly because he didn't even understand the question.

Edwards is no favorite son of SC. He is from NORTH Carolina, not that hillbilly backwoods known as South Carolina or little Carolina. (joke)

There is a dividing line between the southern states and if you're from one it does separate you from others to an extent; no real animosity, but it makes a difference. (Most of this is football related.)
