The best thing that the government can do for the economy is to get out of the way. Bush didn't do that nearly as much as I would want him to, but at least with his tax cuts he made a start at it.

Now if only that could have been combined with spending cuts (or at least restraint), tax simplification, and deregulation... But its not like Gore or Kerry would have provided those things.
