Probably a way of dumping the fab Intel no longer needs without getting into trouble over the subsidies when it closes down. That whole Numonyx thing smells like a giant writeoff to me.

Petz, With fabs like that, it really makes you wonder if this Numonyx thing will ever happen.

Actually, INTEL´s Fab 18 is going to be the flagship factory of Numonyx. It was switched from producing 180nm Pentium processors to 90nm/65nm NOR flash in 2006.
