The racial component was pretty small. Now, true, I was pretty young at that point. But, from what I can find, it was as you and JF have described it.

The main issue wasn't race. While it might have been a component, and in the 1960s so many things were if only one black was involved, it wasn't the primary component. I suppose it depends on your definition of "race riot".
