Never proven that Nixon helped orchestrate the watergate burglary. It was his role in the "cover-up" that nailed him. The break in was really silly in that Nixon easily defeated George McGovern in the 1972 election. The investigation, tapes etc. really exposed the paranoid, dark side of Nixon. And exposed more corruption, tax audits and even a slush fund. He did end the war but it wasn't quick enough for many. It's interesting when you live through it. I attended a few anti-Nixon rallys.
