The Canadian system crimps on services, denies treatment readily available here, and relies on sending emergencies across the border. Real profit margins from yahoo finance: UNH 6.17% AET 6.78% WLP 5.47% LLY 12.61% BMY 11.36% PFE 17.07% MER (69.13)% JNJ 17.3% WAG 10.44% Of course, with no profits, none of these companies would be in existence. Guess we could build a govt bureaucracy to do the same things but would a "Post Office" for health care be more efficient and effective? No.
