Since Spansion market capitalisation is only $500M now, I fail to see how an IPO of Numonyx would succeed in raising more than a couple of hundred million dollars, and they need more than a billion to do anything worth doing with their 300mm shell.
The market for memory (both NV and RAM) will have to turn around significantly before Numonyx will be able to IPO at an acceptable price.
We should also realise that, in the coming year (assuming Q1 spinoff of Numonyx), Numonyx will have to have quarterly earnings comparable to Spansion to warrant an IPO price comparable to Spansions stock price. I don't see that happening this year either, unless NOR flash prices go up by at least 30 to 50%.
