Here is my plan: Roll back taxes to 2004 levels Eliminate homestead exemption Eliminate the 'old' SOH Tie a new "SOH" to the house, not the owner, and cap at 4% *Give a 75% of value exemption to seniors over 62 up to $300K in value (full boat over $300K) People end up paying even amount, except seniors who we don't want to have to give up their homes or move out of state when they retire and go to a fixed income. But... the horse is already out of the barn.
