Social programs are complicated. And I certainly do not know the answers. I have worked in many social progrms being the state director of three: EMS, alcohlism and drug abuse and valdez oil spil coordinator for H and SS.

But we cannot throw the baby out with the bathwater. Yes there are lots of issues.

My feeling about that era Rambi was that we were and are still experimenting with social programs. It is a sticky wicket fo sure, but I take the same view the courts take regarding sentencing innocent people.

It is better to let 9 men go free than convict one innocent man.

It is better to make sure one old crippled women gets fed and sheltored than throw her out with the bad ones who are takign advantage of the programs.

And even those taking advantage are not living that well!
