Sometimes, there're things you don't even understand cuz you don't trust any government. You don't trust the capitalist system. I gave you an example of some of the things foreign communities will buy. I am not suggesting that's the only feasible solution but foreigners will buy US assets anyhow. When there's great depression coming to your neighborhood, wouldn't you expect a civil disorder in society ???

I read a Sci-Fi book a few years back The Parable of the Talents... Alaska joined Canada while the continental US turned into an anarchistic mess with city states and a loose central government..

Of course I have no idea how Canada would keep the US out even in that event...
