I think he would be an asset to the ticket It would look like a Mutt and Jeff ticket. My inside source sez that high profile short guys don't like tall men next to them. Can see it now. Every Wednesday is stand up night so McCain can tell his off color jokes and Huckabee can tell us his Baptist jokes from the White House. Their reasons are that it will keep MSM from their usual foul mood and it will help to re-employ all those poor writers on strike in Beverly Hills.
