yes, a slamdunk no brainer;

in taxi on way from airport to home;

light tasks tomorrow, but full day; then

holiday quality time with coconut.

at 39 months, she said, "dada, you are disturbing me from counting; i must make more pizza (out of play putty) because lots of people waiting"

now she sorts and counts her newly accumulated (our spare change coins) once per week and gets me to fill in ledger before depositing same in piggy bank.

i asked her whether she would trade all of her coins for one gold coin - yes; or silver coin - not sure.

she would also be willing to use some coins to buy a gift for nanny, and to buy an Orangina.

Yes, it already had a kick-start, but just that - a start of a long and slow process, although I have to give credit to the authors for their sharp eyes (Chinese culture values the eyes as a great extension of brain). China is still far behind in real innovation in pure science and technology view, IMHHO, of many of its peers. Nolens volens, the process has started!

The Georgia Tech guys are trying to get into the "China Threat" business, but they are a few years late.

I expect that China's technological threat will be more nuanced, and oriented towards China's needs, like more and more jobs.
