Education. Education. Education... Doug you educated the people. You encouraged them to come out. You gave them some intimacy in that you cared. They responded.. That's great and that is what it is all about.

Coug - I think that's great. I commend you. I also wanted to mention that I don't think the saying "All politics is local" doesn't mean that anyone who isn't involved at a local level is somehow not doing what they should be. It simply means that elections are decided by actual voters (duh), so local and personal efforts to persuade voters to support particular candidates or political agendas, and to get out the vote can be more important than televised debates, etc. I certainly don't feel that I can determine how valid a person's opinion is based on their level of activity in local politics. - Allen
