I read some time ago where he's never performed heart surgery, is not a surgeon of any kind. He started out studying architecture before switching to medicine. His claim to fame is his artificial heart. I don't put that down a bit, but his fronting a statin med is a lot of crap in my mind.

At least he's a cardiologist. Most the pharmaceutical ads are all fluff.

Jarvik is an engineer who could not into a medical school in the US. But they accepted him to a medical school in Bologna, Italy.

He finished medical school, but never became a doctor. There are a number of steps you have to go through before you can treat a single patient. Jarvik has never in his life treated a single patient.

I agree with Ken, it is as close to scam as it can get... And it worked. It sold you on Lipitor...
