>>>save the poor subprime borrowers by strapping them to the backs of those of us who are actually paying for our homes, right?<<<

Its the American way. Or should I say it has become the American way. Some are quick to point out that the US will loose its AAA. We will if we are forced to carry the garbage on our backs - kind of the way that the Japanese wouldn't take out a knife and cut off a gangrenous limb. I don't know what Japan's difficulty was. Betraying college buddies??? Our problem is democracy, wherein the politicians think they have a right to continue to buy office by transferring wealth from the relatively small voting pool of the wealthy to the large voting pool of the subprime screwballs.

Atlas Shurgged????

The appropriate politicians need you to e-mail them just what you said.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. The politicians realize what you are saying, and they know most Americans feel that way. I even wrote my congressman to the effect of "Waste our tax dollars helping those clowns and see how many people vote for you next time."

Everything they say is lip service for the benefit of all the dumba$$es who got in over their heads. Almost no one REALLY wants to help them, even though lots of people pretend they do. Must be honest and say I don't want to help people that dumb because they don't learn anything if you help them. I have tried it before and it doesn't work. They just make the same mistakes again.

Everyone has been talking about helping them for over a year now, and nothing is actually happening down where the money changes hands. It's like the Mexican border fence they authorized but then didn't allocate funds for.

The overextended folks are dropping like flies. In another year most of those greedy dumba$$es will be renters again and the problem will have gone away on it's own.

Nice rant.

What drives me nuts is that people keep talking about the fact that they lost their house. But in reality, all they lost was a mortgage that they had no business getting in the first place. These people were never home owners, they were debtors.
