Of course Intel is a monopoly. At one time Intel had a market share of about 90%. Microsoft is a monopoly in some of its markets, utilities and cable companies are also monopolies, etc. All monopolies aren't evil, it's only when they engage in illegal behavior which thwarts competition and ultimately hurts the consumer is when the government has a problem with them. What conspiracies have you been hearing about? Who is Intel conspiring with to harm AMD? I think they are trying to harm AMD all by themself. What inane criticisms are you hearing? The fastest chips in the market are currently Intel's, but as we learned in the 4th quarter reports AMD is selling their share of product. Most people and corporations don't buy the fastest, state of the art solutions. They buy practical solutions with value which will serve their needs, but they are looking for the best product for their money. Even Google which pampers its workers with great amenities don't provide their employees with Rolls-Royces as company cars. I'm sure they are a bit more pragmatic.

Many consumers last quarter bought AMD products. AMD held their market share share and almost broke even with their operating costs disregarding the ATI stuff. None of the Intel people here expected that. I didnt hear them give AMD any credit for a better than expected quarter. All I heard before the results were announced was that AMD will go in bankruptcy soon. After the results all I heard is that AMD will do worse next quarter. AMD had a rough 4th quarter in turning out their products and still turned out a much better than expected quarter. They are ironing out their problems and will get more competitive products and will do better. The market sees this and that is why their stock is creeping upwards.

Gloo I believe my remarks are fair and pretty balanced. I have made almost 350 posts and no one yet has put me on their ignore list. Ypo on the other hand have less than 150 posts and are ignored by 8 people. I believe that an indicator that more people that read the board respect my opinion more than yours. I also know by sayong this some Intel people will now probably hit the ignore button on me. That's ok. That's why AMD will eventually succeed they are more creative and ambitious than Intel.
