When you hear that Ann Coulter would back Hillary Clinton, what does that do to you? Does it make you more inclined or less inclined to vote for Hillary? Judging from the rest of your post, I would guess that it makes you less inclined. (Yes, I know you already weren't backing her.) But I would guess from your post, that the likes of Ann Coulter backing Hillary makes you even more negative than you were. It arouses a powerful negative emotion and takes you to the logical conclusion of that negativity. So Obama gets Carolin Kennedy who has never pledged and Ted Kennedy and Hillary gets Ann Coulter. If that doesn't tell you something. Yesterday, I heard that supposedly Rush Limbaugh made the same statement as Ann Coulter. What better way to turn Democrats against Hillary than to link her, no matter how preposterously, with supposed support by two of the left's most hated pundits!! What a clever, clever way to undermine support for her. It's ingenious if you think about it. JMHO, of course, but I take this as one more piece of evidence that right-wing forces view Hillary as either (1) the democrat most likely to win election, and/or (2) when elected, the person most likely to truly undue the excesses of the Bush administration and take a pound of flesh from the wealthy individual and corporate interests that have instituted policies that will take this country to banana republic status. There are no media attacks coming out of the right on Obama. Why is that? My guess is that he's viewed as being the one of the two who's more vulnerable to being steam-rolled by the right. And/or he's viewed as the one more likely to compromise away the tough actions that need to be taken to get this country back in better fiscal shape. Remember, Obama's whole pitch is as being the one who can unite people and reach across the aisle. These are inspirational words and worthy goals. The reality, though, is that it takes compromise to truly govern that way. For thirty years, right-wing economics and social policies have turned the country in such a radically different direction, that I'm not sure the country can afford to compromise. At any rate, these are my observations and worries. Because of them, I plan to vote for Hillary now. But I will still, of course, enthusiastically support Obama if he's the nominee.
