shorting into a lockup of any hot stock has proven to be a death sentence these past few years- I wouldn't touch it personally unless you KNOW EMC is going to dump shares- I doubt they will.

Whoever said anything about shorting the stock? I said, short-term this stock is likely to be goosed UP! And if the insiders dump when the bagholders are jumping up and down, eager to buy the stock, it might not come down by much.

There just aren't any alternative investments these days to make it worthwhile to sell, insiders are mostly pros now... retail sells but it is so insignificant it doesn't matter

Well, retail sells has so far taken down the stock from 120s to the 50s... Insiders will always make money - the informed insiders that is. Most retail bagholders are just that - bagholders.

A friend from Google asked me what to do with his stock. This was about 18 months ago. I told him to get rid of most of the stuff and reinvest in reasonably priced dividend-paying stocks in the US and across the world. He is happy he did that.

So not only are there alternative investments, many of the alternative investments are way better than GOOG, VMW and other such junk. Amazing how many of the same people who fell for the late 90's internet crap are lapping it up all over again!
