That's what it promotes, but that seems a silly goal. The daytrader who makes $10k, and the LT investor who makes $10k on GOOG, and still holds GOOG, aren't that much different on Dec 31st. The daytrader has some amount of stocks in his PA on Dec 31st, they are just different stocks than he had on Jan 1st. You can even argue the daytrader is better for the US since he pays commissions and he increases liquidity.

Do you know how they calculate net assets? That seems the tricky part.
