The people who market these things often present them as legal ... they put together a glossy package that looks real to a layperson, with all kind of legal citations ... however someone conversant with the law can spot it as a fraud in less than 20 minutes ... often they warn you not to have it reviewed by your accountant or lawyer because they are not sophisticated enough to understand it ... anything you read about it on the net is almost certainly produced by a fraudster ... only way to get legit info is hire a local CPA/lawyer that has been in your community for many years and has a good rep.

phrases to look out for, these indicate 99% probability you are dealing with a scamster:

common law trust
constitutional trust
international business corporation

You could become a british citizen like John Templeton did. Britain doesn't follow you around the world trying to collect taxes. No income tax in the Bahamas where his digs are.

If you renounce your US citizenship, the IRS automatically assumes you did it for tax purposes and claims they can collect on future earnings should you have assets over a set amount.

Templeton got out well under the wire.

Another notable that lives in the Bahamas is Sean Connery. Nice tax break there.
