Dale: "Between the Shiite majority, the Kurds, the oil divided between those two groups mostly, and the anti-AQ Sunni warlords we are funding so nicely, the idea of AQ taking over Iraq is both bizarre and stupid.

But it makes a great sound bite."

Exactly.

And there is a huge irony here i.e. all of our friends in the region are sunnie except Sadam-lol. So we disband the sunnie and give power to the shia (which are only in Iraq and Iran as a majority and then simultanously call Iran the axis of evil).

Then a few months ago the administration realized their mistake as malaki cozied up to the Iranians and the sunnie tribal leaders (scared of both the shia and AQ) decide it is better for them to throw in with us----for now. They still hate us.

And what we get out of it is a showcase of a group fighting AQ which were not their in the first place and are a paltry group with no real power-lol. What is really going on however is that we are arming both groups at the same time which will make the eventual showdown so much more violent..

And now relations are breaking down with the kurds as they make their own oil deals with the world especiall Kirkuk.

The bush administration has no idea what to do and is holding on for dear life until their term is over and then when the dems pull out, and all hell breaks loose, they will blame the dems.

Perfect political strategy and one the neo cons have run effectively, over and over and over and the people always fall for it.
