That list demonstrates very nicely that the word doesn't translate to English, but mentally connects a lot of different concepts with those that use it.

For instance, "Anhaltende konjunktur" is translated as "continuous boom", but it can also mean "continuous slow-down". However, politicians will usually talk about continuous booms and not slow-downs, so the context will usually be boom.

I guess this is just another example that shows, that politics is about what can be explained easily, and that the choice of language also determines what politicians do.
