I came out closest to Obama, no surprise:

Ditto. And most distant from Huckabee.

I'm a bit surprised you are all the way over to Obama. Your centrist commitments would seem, on matters of policy, to place you closer to Clinton.

I suspect it's the Iraq stuff that pulls you over, however.

I came out closest to (surprise) Ron Paul,:) but also very close to Obama, go figure. Farthest from Huckabee.

It shows me as closest to Mitt Romney or if you include candidates who have given up, than I'd be closest to Rudy Giuliani.

I don't think that's exactly accurate.

Also the way the groupings of candidates shape up show a weakness in the compass. For example I think Paul should be relatively far away from the other candidates. On some issues, depending on whether you support him or not he is either "out their in the twilight zone", or "the only candidate who gets it".

I like his generally very libertarian stance, and I'd like to see more of it, but I wouldn't support him, because 1 - I'm not a gold bug, 2 - I don't think we should pull out of Iraq now, 3 - I don't agree with his stance on trade agreements (in a certain ideal sense I agree, simply opening trade without all the provisions of many of these agreements would be better, but generally the agreements are better than nothing, and do result in trade being freer than it would be without them), 4 - I'm not sure I agree with him on immigration, but than this is an issue where I don't have a fully developed opinion, so I can't say I outright disagree either. But at least I wouldn't jump on this issue as hard as he apparently wants to.

As for Giuliani and Romney, there are areas of agreement, but if he was still in the race I would have supported Thompson. At least judging by his positions.
