Why do people keep repeating that?

This is a guy who is either a dry drunk or an alcoholic (using the AA definition of alcoholic), and people keep saying he's a guy who you'd "like to have a beer with him," lol. Not that I'm saying that you, John, would like that. But it's the second time that phrase has been dredged up today, and of course it was all over the place in '00.

It strikes me as ironically absurd and ridiculously tragic (if those things are possible)--we get the president we deserve.
