Why are some in the Republican party working to move forward a candidate that has more in common with the democrat platform than the Republican platform?

On the other hand Karen, Americans have had it so easy for so long that the vast voting majority doesn't really have the experience of hardship and have no idea what real hardship is all about..... It very well may be time for Americans to pick exactly the wrong candidate for President and suffer another 4 years akin to the Carter administration for a pain refresher....... IMO there's only one candidate that has a chance at winning, that's also got the acumen to better our economy,,,,,,it's time for a technocrat......
