Mike, <I did short some futures at 915 on Sunday evening, was hoping to put some more on around 920, but it never got there. Guess what am i doing with my short profits ? I am buying more physical ( i am still holding my futures shorts, which can change at anytime )> Seriously, you are my hero. I've dreamed of doing that, but never had the guts. Mike, few understand, US/Rome - we are at the doors of outright collapse. There will be no stopping it. The cycle is now pointing to an outright collapse with rallies along the way to back down under 7000, most likely we should get below 5000 by 2012/2013 time frame. The ship is sinking, and the fight has begun to bail it out....... GET IT IN YOUR HEAD FOLKS - the bear is back....... Markets will survive, great companies will go on doing business, invest in Agriculture, folks will still have to eat. Invest in Energy (many with stellar dividend yields), it will still be needed. Once this cycle ends, buy China, Russia, Brazil - places with vast resources of cheap labor and energy! But whatever you do, make sure the balance sheet is clean and not loaded up with debt. We will come out of the other side, however, it is going to take a lot different thinking. Smaller and less emperialistic like - as we will no longer be able to afford all these silly things and programs that are loaded up with waste. If we see Dollar Reserve Statis go away or oil traded in Euros by the like of a Saudi Arabia - America will become a much diffent country......overnight. FIAT works to the extent that its government does not abuse it - we have more than abused it, we have destroyed 250 years of incredible hard work on the part of our parents. May future generations take heed and make the changes needed to re-establish what was written in our Constitution - however, this will not come without much pain and sacrifice! This time around, with global competition, it is going to be so much harder to rebuild what we have given up. When I see extreme smart money like Jim Rogers moving to Singapore and many others fleeing the nest - you must ask - WHY..... My posts will be few and far between here now, there is not much else to say - we know what is to come. West
