At this point it may not be such a good idea to start looking for stability in any paper currency.

I have just converted funds invested in antidollar ETFs and mutual funds to PMPIX, the leveraged gold mining mutual fund. It's down a lot today, but that's where I have just bought. Looks to me as if the miners have hardly started to reflect the huge increases in cash flow from risen bullion prices.

Maybe other countries will refuse to devalue competitively, but One cannot count on this for sure. Not even the Swiss franc is gold backed.
