To say that experience does matter is not necessarily to say that the more experienced candidate is the best candidate.

As to my personal view about the Hillary v Obama battle. Honestly I haven't thought about it a lot (because I wouldn't support either). Hillary irritates me a lot more, but that's just an emotional and/or surface reaction. I'm not sure there is any major difference in their policies.

The obvious answer to that is to look at the enormous "experience" of the Bush administration.

I really wish you would subdue your tone to everyone who doesn't support Hillary. Your posts are replete with these kinds of statements ( "how can intelligent people think that?")

There are many, many, many people who don't believe Hillary has such enormous experience that it overrides all the negatives that also accompany her. In fact, much of her experience is a sort of amalgam of osmosis and spectator sport. Obama may actually have a better shot at getting the shift to universal health care begun because of his more moderate approach and his ability to inspire cooperation.

The whole "Hillary is best and why can't the rest of you see this" is just getting tiresome.

>>Barack is very smart. There is no argument there. He is also a quick study, but she is 14 years older. She has been thoroughly tested under immense pressure. To say that experience does not matter is really nonsense.

How can intelligent people think that?<<

Mary -

I would never say that experience doesn't matter. I just don't buy the idea that the fact that one person is 14 years older than the other means that the older person is ipso facto a better candidate for a specific job.

Experience matters, but it's not the only thing that matters.

PS: I'm finally catching up to the thread, and I see that in this post I've said something that Tim Fowler already said. Well, I guess he can't be wrong 100% of the time. ;-)
