You mean the voting for McCain part?-- oh yes, that was very facetious. I didn't even add a smiley since I figured it was so obvious! It was seeing the power of Rush and Colter diminished that appeals to me.

Lane's article contained this sentence
" a host of other neocons have hitched their fortunes to McCain, the neocons are poised for a fresh comeback"

Made me shiver in terror.

In the past two elections I voted for whom I thought was the lesser of two evils. I was wrong both times. I would so love to be able to vote FOR someone this time, but if the candidates are Hillary and McCain, it will be another hold my nose and pull (scratch, punch, X, whatever).

Suma;

Our forces were ill equipped to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan..

Hogwash. Our forces were very well equipped for Afghanistan and Iraq. We marched in and smashed the military of Iraq. the problem is not the military - but our need to win the hearts and minds of the people. Until we understand that we will fail in each and every endeavor we undertake. Did you know we spend as much money on our military as the rest of the world combined?

Nonsense. They where about as well equipped as any military has ever been.

What will ships do.

Well they are important, if not for Iraq or Afghanistan. OTOH I don't know that we need any big buildup in numbers. New shipbuilding probably will be and probably should be to replace old ships. Not that larger numbers would be useless but "not useless" doesn't mean "worth the money".
