Canada is very fortunate to have a neighbour like the US.Before the conservatives came to power we were riding on your back for defence for far too long.We are taking on more responsibility, regarding defence now, and I hope it stays that way, and no I am not a Conservative.

Good news on the defence issue. We'll just have to agree to disagree on the other.

The price discounts that Canada enjoys would not be possible if not for Americans paying most of the worldwide cost of Research and Development for drugs. So I guess the free ride benefit you envision the US receiving isn't so free to the US.

Thus both ways Canada benefits.
