Right, I need to separate drug companies, hospitals, doctor, nurses, etc. from insurance companies. I don't know any stats about insurance company profits in a country with lots of disease or one with little disease. I figure much of insurance is a scam where they will charge more in anticipation that an individual will become sick but then refuse to pay out in the event their predictions come true. I think that we have less free will than we think we do. Much of what we do is predetermined or governed by unconscious reactions and behaviors. It takes lots of knowledge and will power to overcome genetics, culture, chemicals, etc. I think Mindless Eating and the Omnivore's Dilemma are interesting reads.
