I believe that's one of the Fed's classic functions, to save the Treasury's bacon in the event of an auction failure.

But I keep forgetting my lower-level economics.

I often suspect the Fed is bidding, especially in light of Bernankes speeches...

but do you have proof of same?

I have reviewed the past posts and I dont see it.
