Yes, that's true that your two examples are identical, but what I didn't see in your data is where the Fed actually purchased those Treasuries.

It could have been there on the Treasury Direct link, but I didn't see it. Would you point me to the area that shows the Fed bought them?

I've never seen the Fed buy or sell Treasuries and it not show up in the SOMA account (which by the way was down another $5 billion in the most recent week - the Fed sold $5 billion of Treasuries) - not that it can't happen, I've just never seen it.
