I don't think so. ;) I mostly line up with Republicans on core values. But recently they have strayed from those, which is why they are losing a lot of members. I imagine that the shock of losing Congress and the added shock of losing the White House will be a cathartic experience for the Republican party and would marginalize those rightwingnuts, the neocons and Evangelicals. Then we can all come back and be proud of the Republican party again.

Obama on the other hand is a rare breed. Even if I disagreed with all his policies and even if the Republicans weren't currently disgusting me, I might have voted for him anyway. I think he is one of those candidates who is a once in a generation find. To not vote for him would be a huge lost opportunity to heal and unify this country, regardless of your politics. And right now, we need healing, unification, and increased morale more than at any other time since the Vietnam War. Obama is simply the right person at the right time for this country.

I hope the Democratic Party realizes what they have in Obama and nominate him. It would be just tragic for them to step on our great hope for the future.
